Local Broome instrumental guitar duo featuring the amazing talents of Guy Ghouse and Damian Watkiss. In addition to an impressive National touring callender, Desert Child have performed at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland 1998, at the prestigious Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club in England 1999, Hard Rock Cafe in Scotland and Indonesia, The Roxy in LA California and live At BBC in the UK. Back home 4 x at the Fairbridge festival, 4 x at the Nannup Festival, twice at the Frankston International Guitar Festival, Port Fairy in Victoria, The National in ACT, Shinju Matsuri in Broome, Down South festival in Albany, Rhythms in the Outback festival in Kalgoorlie, Ord Valley Muster in Kununurra and countless other venues.

Desert Child have supported such artist as Ottmar Liebert, Jose Felliciano, James Morrisson, Willie Nelson, The Cruel Sea, the Angels, Billy Thorpe, John Butler Trio, The Waifs, Chocolate Starfish, Nathan Caverleri, Screaming Jets, Zep Boys, Baby Animals, Elvis to the Max (Graceland's No#1 approved Elvis impersonator) and Lucky Oceans.

The title track off the 2nd album "Shine" took 3rd place at the Australian Songwriters Association (ASA) award night held in Melbourne August 2000 in the Instrumental category. Desert Child are currently working on the third album. Due for release in 2006.

The Ellis Stompbox is called by many names such as foot stompbox, Hand Drum, Foot Drum, Percussion Drum, Australian Artists have embraced the Stomp Box and it is being used in the Studio and on Stage by Ash Grunwald, Nathan Gaunt, Desert Child, Dave Mann, Roy Martinez, Jack Ceriani, Second Gear, Khin Myint, Craig Sinclair, Toby, James Michael Thompson, Andrew Winton and many more.
