Andrew Ellis has received permission from Linda Manzer (the original creator) to incorporate The WEDGE © into his designs. This ergonomic design tilts the fingerboard upward. You don’t have to lean forward to see what you are doing. This reduces strain on your neck, shoulders and upper and lower back. – The wedge also allows you to keep your strumming arm closer into your body, which also reduces strain and discomfort. – Overall, the wedge contour allows you to sit more upright when playing, improving posture and reducing hunching and back pain.
Cutaway is the standard shape with the right hand corner of the body “cut away” to allow playing the upper frets with the left hand. Opponents of the cutaway design cite lowered volume in the guitar but most players and luthiers attest that there is no discernable change in tone or volume in a cutaway.
