Don Rosshas emerged as one of the most respected musicians in Canada and one of the top guitarists in the world. Harry Manxhas been called an “essential link” between the music of East and West. Harry started out as a sound man in blues clubs in Toronto. “I’ve always had one foot in the blues from those days … what I got from those artists is a groove. That’s what I’m particularly interested in is the groove, and that’s the way I play blues”. “I went to Europe when I was 20 and started making money as a busker,” recalls Manx.
Harry then studied with Vishwa Mohan Bhatt in India. Bhatt is the inventor of the 20-stringed Mohan Veena, which has become Harry’s signature instrument. Harry spent most of twelve years in India learning. It was later on that Harry decided to explore the connection between Indian ragas and blues scales which eventually led to the Indo-blues hybrid that has become his style.

Andy McKee is a self-taught musician who grew up studying cassettes and CDs of artists as diverse as Preston Reed, Don Ross, Billy McLaughlin, and Michael Hedges, Eric Johnson, and Dream Theater. Interesting enough, his slap and pop technique is inspired by Earth Wind & Fire’s bassist Verdine White. He also absorbed the sophisticatedly accessible work of 1980s icons like Toto and Tears For Fears. His compositions and imaginative technique are an amalgamated conception of these disparate aesthetics—the chops-y journeys of guitar masters, the irreverent genius of the modern acoustic wizards, and the creative and hooky compositional and arrangement sense of good 1980s pop. Andy writes with rich impressionistic chords that often evoke beautiful country landscapes. He arranges with a keen understanding of dynamics and how songs have to feel transporting to have emotional currency.

He has recorded and/or performed with many of the worlds top artists, including Cameo, Michael Jackson, Billy Joel, Cyndi Lauper, Foreigner, Pat Metheny, Carl Hancock Rux, Ziggy Marley & The Melody, Shawn Colvin, Joan Osborne, Dar Williams, Sophie B. Hawkins, Peter Wolf, Darden Smith, Loudon Wainwright III, Anita Baker, Hall & Oates, Carly Simon, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, The Beach Boys, Michael Bolton, Spyro Gyra, Lou Reed, Dionne Warwick and many more.

Kasey Chambersand husband Shane Nicholson grew up on the sounds of Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Gram Parsons – primarily American songwriters, though they do see an irony in being referred to as ‘Americana’ artists. “We just play this music because that’s what we love. With 12 albums between them, and countless road miles under their wheels, Chambers and Nicholson have together created their own niche and own voice in a musical territory that is more than familiar to them.
“This is what we sound like when we play. We were both brought up on artists that sat on the fringe of country music, and that’s still where we mostly like to hang out.”
